The gold standard for imaging the heart has been the Electron
Beam CT (EBCT), on which nearly all clinical validation for cardiac
calcification scoring has been performed. Unfortunately, that technology
has had limited availability to the patient population and therefore, testing
for cardiac calcification has been also limited. The advent of the new
gated helical CT (GHCT) technology holds the promise of making the test widely
available, and at a reasonable cost. The following images
demonstrate how the images compare at one site, with a given patient: (click

Key Benefits
 | HeartScoring can now be done on patients up to 450 lbs. |
 | HeartScoring can now be done on a widely available technology, the
helical CT system, which is the gold standard for routine CT imaging
studies. |
 | HeartScoring costs can now be kept under $400 per study, including
interpretation by the cardiologist, or radiologist. |
